yep it's another time to celebrate the birthday of Jesus Christ, as u drink, eat and feast remember those who are less privilege. Just yesterday while at the park in front Of Obafemi Awolowo University, ready to leave school, a young lady walked up to me and explained her plight; she was stranded and needed some money to board a bus enroute lagos, for me it was another opportunity to touch a life at christmas, u can guess what i did.

Touching lives at Christmas

Yesterday,i was justing clearing off some junks in the room, and packing up my things in preparation for the Christmas break. In a while i discovered that i had bag loads of clothes i wasn't going to need anymore, I had resolved to throw them away, when a little boy hawking oranges and bananas came by.

Child Abuse! i really felt bad for the little lad who can't be above five years of age.I offered to give the clothes to him, at least for his elder ones. The excited lad picked the bag of clothes quickly, left his tray of oranges and carried them to his mom's shop. He came back saying thank you, again and again for a bag of clothes i thought was a waste.

This Christmas season let your excesses fill the inadequacies of others. I wish you a very merry Christmas, and a happy new year in advance. I am still in Ife ooooooo, should spend my Christmas in Ibadan.

Million thanks to all my friends that have helped me achieve so much this year.

Folu, for keeping in touch

Sam Salau, for helping publish my third book

Everyone at Ydi OAU, it's been fun serving you

JIde Aroyewun, my book designer.

Debo, my manager.

Tosin, my roomie

Dad, for coming to my rescue when i needed you most.

My only brother Dr. Olumide, for the shirts.

Titibabs, for being a great ally.

My mum, for bearing with me.

My sisters for cooking for me.

Punch newspapers , for featuring me on October 13th.

my friend udeme, sorry folu

Life spent searching highs and lows

Through the distance and empty spaces

For that one thing that makes us complete

Some say its love

Love from that one person

That makes our heart beat and skip

Time wasted looking for my prince, my emperor

Who truly deserved me

A beautiful black woman

A woman of virtue and worth

Of great strength,

Whose heritage is rich and flourishing

It was all about me

Myself, my desires, my needs

Extolling self

Misguided by worldly issues

Ignorant in my reasoning and understanding

I trusted in myself and sort for me

So self absorbed, I was repressed and suppressed

By forces around me

Nescient of the immortal being who died for me

Till I found you

Slain for my sins

Risen so that I might be saved

I recognize that a lot can change with you

Cause you’ve got the keys

So I fall on my knees

Thankful for your mercy

My life wasn’t so great

So it took nothing

To humbly embrace yours

I found true love in you

Impressed by your rest and peace

All who came to you found joy everlasting

You brought me light that couldn’t be hidden

Got to know the true meaning of your death

Salvation and sanctification

You taught me that true wealth is not in my heritage

But it’s in having the Holy Spirit within

Learned the way to righteousness by putting my faith in you

Now my life is beautiful

Cause I’ve got you.

LIFE INSPIRING STORIES OF PASTOR E.A.ADEBOYE

watch out for my new book, out MAR, 2008.

REAL FRIEND TEST!

This is GOOD...I expect it back too!
I especially like the last sentence!!!!!!

A simple friend, when visiting, acts like a guest.
A real friend opens your refrigerator and helps himself
and doesn't feel even the least bit weird shutting your
'beer/Pepsi drawer' with her foot!

A simple friend has never seen you cry.
A real friend shoulder is soggy from your tears..

A simple friend doesn't know your parents' first
names.
A real friend has their phone numbers
in his address book.

A simple friend brings a bottle of wine to your
party.
A real friend comes early to help you cook and
stays late to help you clean.

A simple friend hates it when you call after
they've gone to bed.
A real friend asks you why you took so long to
call.

A simple friend seeks to talk with you about your
problems.
A real friend seeks to help you with your problems.

A simple friend wonders about your romantic
history.
A real friend could blackmail you with it!

A simple friend thinks the friendship is over when
you have an argument.
A real friend calls you after you h

A simple friend expects you to always be there for
them.
A real friend expects to always be there for you!

A simple friend reads this e-mail and deletes it.
A real friend passes it on and sends it back to you!

Pass this on to anyone you care about......if you
get it back you have no beginning, no end.

It keeps us together, like our Circle of Friends.
Today I pass this on to you. Pass it on to someone
who is a friend to you..

INSTANTLY WHEN YOU RECEIVE THIS LETTER, YOU'RE
REQUESTED TO SEND IT
TO AT LEAST 10 PEOPLE, INCLUDING THE PERSON WHO
SENT IT TO YOU.

When you are down to nothing ...
God is up to something.

FGGC SAGAMU

For the first time on Sunday i was on an outreach to a Federal school and it was simply great, fellowshipping with the girls at FGGC, Sagamu. The programme started at about 10am and i was there alongside two other Ydi members from Obafemi Awolowo University Chapter, Dayo Adeniyi and Tosin Aluko.

As God gives me the grace i am scheduled to visit a couple of other federal schools in Nigeria.

IT was simply an experience, live music at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos. Excellent music, wonderful people, tight security, lovely programme.

my experience at EXPERIENCE 2007

It was simply awesome. I am yet to recover from it, we had Don Moen, Cece Winnas, Marvin Winnas, Israel Houghton, T.D Jakes and other world class gospel artistes all in one concert at T.B.S Lagos.the experience Lagos is a concert held by the house on the rock church, with the pastor paul adefarasin!!!!!!!!!!! the experience Lagos is all about building the Christian mind in God .
Indeed it was life music like never before, i think it's actually Nigeria's biggest gospel concert. Thumbs up to the man behind EXPERIENCE, Pastor Paul Adefarasin.

AN EVENING WITH THE ACADEMIC GOD IN IFE

AN EVENING WITH THE ACADEMIC GOD IN IFE

One thing that is common to all great men is that somehow they find a way to start do in something about their dreams. That's exactly what happened over the weekend at Obafemi Awolowo University where GBOOKS held her first seminar for YEMI ADELEYE , Author ACADEMIC GOD.
the first session was an evening with the ACADEMIC god in Mozambique Hall for part 1 ladies, it was simply impactful as the students had an experience hey would not forget in a while with the ACADEMIC god himself. The event also featured a breakfast meeting later on Sunday morning with the Author.

from school

After touring Abuja finally i am back in school, to be sincere it has been a little bit difficult trying to balance acada with other things i really love doing, i have been keeping Jehovah sharp sharp abreast, so i know he will help me.Are you laughing?, that's what i call Him .

If you are like me , then you should be a little bit jittery about the fact that in just about two months the year 2007, the year of perfection would come to an end. This Afternoon, i had to do some thinking and strategic planning, cos i still have a lot to do before it's time to say Happy New Year.

But God has indeed been faithful .

AM IN ABUJA AGAIN

I came in some three days ago, like the last time its been a whole lot of fun, blessing, opportunity , infact words cannot express how fruitful my second missionary visit to Abuja has been. Actually i came for Ydi's Possibility Conference held at Hossana House, Wuse 2 on Saturday.

The programme is my own assessment was the bomb, the speakers were outrageous and Jehovah Too Much was just too much.He healed a man that had been suffering from chest pain for about twenty years, another young man that had ear defect began to hear. You can't imagine it .

Well school has resumed on sunday and my pals are calling me already, i wud be going back tomorrow,so it wud be goodbye Abuja and Good Afternoon Ile-Ife.

a mail i got

5 MINUTE MANAGEMENT COURSE

Lesson 1:

A man is getting into the shower just as his wife is finishing up her shower, when the doorbell rings. The wife quickly wraps herself in a towel and runs downstairs. When she opens the door, there stands Bob, the next-door neighbor.

Before she says a word, Bob says, "I'll give you $800 to drop that towel, "

After thinking for a moment, the woman drops her towel and stands naked in front of Bob After a few seconds, Bob hands her $800 and leaves.

The woman wraps back up in the towel and goes back upstairs. When she gets to the bathroom, her husband asks, "Who was that?"

"It was Bob the next door neighbor," she replies.

"Great," the husband says, "did he say anything about the $800 he owes me?"

Moral of the story: If you share critical information pertaining to credit and risk with your shareholders in time, you may be in a position to prevent avoidable exposure.

Lesson 2:

A priest offered a Nun a lift. She got in and crossed her legs, forcing her gown to reveal a leg. The priest nearly had an accident. After controlling the car, he stealthily slid his hand up her leg.

The nun said, "Father, remember Psalm 129?" The priest removed his hand.. But, changing gears, he let his hand slide up her leg again.

The nun once again said, "Father, remember Psalm 129?"

The priest apologized "Sorry sister but the flesh is weak.."

Arriving at the convent, the nun sighed heavily and went on her way.

On his arrival at the church, the priest rushed to look up Psalm 129

It said, "Go forth and seek, further up, you will find glory."

Moral of the story: If you are not well informed in your job, you might miss a great opportunity.

Lesson 3:

A sales rep, an administration clerk, and the manager are walking to lunch when they find an antique oil lamp. They rub it and a Genie comes out.

The Genie says, "I'll give each of you just one wish."

"Me first! Me first!" says the admin clerk. "I want to be in the Bahamas , driving a speedboat, without a care in the world."

Puff! She's gone.

"Me next! Me next!" says the sales rep. "I want to be in Hawaii, relaxing on the beach with my personal masseuse, an endless supply of Pina Coladas and the love of my life.."

Puff! He's gone.

"OK, you're up," the Genie says to the manager.

The manager says, "I want those two back in the office after lunch."

Moral of the story: Always let your boss have the first say.

Lesson 4:

An eagle was sitting on a tree resting, doing nothing. A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him, "Can I also sit like you and do nothing?"

The eagle answered: " Sure , why not."

So, the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle and rested.

All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it.

Moral of the story: To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up.

Lesson 5:

A turkey was chatting with a bull. "I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree," sighed the turkey, "but I haven't got the energy."

"Well, why don't you nibble on some of my droppings?" replied the bull. "They're packed with nutrients."

The turkey pecked at a lump of dung, and found it actually gave him enough strength to reach the lowest branch of the tree. The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch. Finally after a fourth night, the turkey was proudly perched at the top of the tree.

He was promptly spotted by a farmer, who shot him out of the tree.

Moral of the story: Bull-Shit might get you to the top, but it won't keep you there .

Lesson 6:

A little bird was flying south for the Winter. It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground into a large field. While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him.

As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, he began to realize how warm he was. The dung was actually thawing him out! He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy.

A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate. Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him..

Morals of the story:

(1) Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy.

(2) Not everyone who gets you out of shit is your
friend.

(3) And when you're in deep shit, it's best to keep
your mouth shut!

LITTLE ME

PERSONAL PROFILE
Gbenga Fatogun is a young but dynamic youth who is making a difference through writing in the world of young people around the world. He is the President of Students’ World Outreach, an organization that is committed to reaching out to students in secondary schools and High schools around the world. He has also authored two other books and currently schools at Obafemi Awolowo University, where he serves as the President of Young Disciples International (YDi).
www.gbengafatogun.blogspot.com
gfatogun@yahoo.com

WHY I WROTE SHORTLY AFTER HIGH SCHOOL
I got the inspiration to write a book for young people in other parts of the world outside Africa specifically on the 30th of December 2006, some months after my first work had been published. I realized that as a young person I could influence my world via writing books, as it gives me the opportunity to reach out to a large audience of people that I may not be able to meet personally. More specifically my focus was on global impact, helping various young people around the world understand the opportunities, challenges and realities of life after High School. Perhaps my own way of telling the world that Nigerian Youths are Proactive and by December 31st 2025 Nigeria will be the most desirable place to live in anywhere in the world.

People have asked me again and again the difference between my first book Shortly After Secondary School and Shortly After High School. Shortly after High School is the International Edition specifically written for high school kids in the United Kingdom and other English speaking countries. Their environment is quite different from what obtains here, for example I wrote a nugget titled Go to College, because on January 22nd 1999, Richmond, California basketball coach Ken Carter made national news for benching his entire undefeated team for poor academic performance. Carter not only closed the Richmond High School gym, but banned all basketball-related activities and was prepared to cancel the entire season program, because 15 of the 45 players were not living up to class room achievements they agreed to meet in contracts they signed earlier in the semester.

Even with two other books in print writing the book was quite a challenge because I simply wanted something of international standard and eventually by God’s grace and with the help of two other youngsters, Jide Aroyewun my amiable book designer and Sam .O .Salau my publisher we were able to come out with a great work. I am still working on distribution but the book is already been sold in Poland and the United Kingdom. It’s also in Silverbird Bird Galleria and Nu Metro Media Stores., The Palms.

A WORD TO OTHER YOUNGSTERS

E.W Kenyon said, “Make your brain work; it will sweat, but it will improve, it will develop, until it becomes the envy of those around you.” Whatever you know how to do as a young person is your own opportunity for influence if maximized. Be willing and bold enough to start from where you are. I was careful to put the proudly Nigerian logo at the back of my book to tell the world that regardless of what they think great things from the minds of great people are coming out of Nigeria. We have heard of Macaulay Chrisantus, Toyosi Akerele (Rise Magazine),Dayo Adeniyi ( Impact Makers) it’s your turn dear youngster to make a difference.

my birthday

it simply feels good to be a year older, started my day as early as 2am, cos i had to finish up an assignment i was to submit for 7am, just chilling out now, actually i have got a very busy week and i am just trying to figure out how it's going to be.But whatever happens, i give all the glory to God He is the reason why i am alive and also the reason behind everything i have been able to do

gbenga at 21

woke up like 2:00am this morning had to do an assignment i was to submit for 7am,mean it was quite hectic cause i was feeling very sleepy. What the heck, that was actually how i started what was suppose to be my 21st birthday.loads of text messages have been coming in,thanks to all my folks who at least remembered my birthday and who would also have to bear with me for refusing to celebrate it after eating thier own donut and drinks.

I actually feel different, indeed God has been very patient and faithful to me over the last few years.Though i have been able to do some stuffs but i have no doubt in my mind that i can still do more, i simply trust God to help me all the way.

laugh it off

A Pastor went to his church office on Monday morning and discovered a dead mule in the church yard. He telephoned the police. Since there did not appear to be any foul play, the police referred the Pastor to the Health Department.

They explained, "Since there was no health threat you'll need to call the Sanitation Department."

When the pastor called the Sanitation Department, the Manager of the Sanitation Department said, "I can't pick up that dead mule without authorization from the mayor."

The Pastor was not at all too eager to call the mayor, who possessed a very bad temper and was always extremely unpleasant and hard to deal with, but, eventually, the Pastor called the mayor anyway.

The mayor did not disappoint the Pastor. The mayor immediately began to rant and rave. After his continued rant at the pastor, the mayor finally said, "Why did you call me any way? Isn't your job to bury the dead?"

The pastor paused for a brief prayer, and asked the Lord to direct his response. The lord led the pastor to the words he was seeking, "Yes, Mayor, it IS my job to bury the dead, BUT I always like to notify the next of kin first!

CSC 33I, 4PM, AJOSE LECTURE THEATRE A.IFE

hi, i have been very busy recently, after pretending for four months to be out of school a, i am finally faced with th reality of school work again, trust Great Ife, they can stress you with work.

I have got two three papers to write in the next two days, i need all the prayers and what have you. By the way i heard a friend of mine affirm yesterday that it's wrong to wish others " Best of Luck" As far as He is concerned, it's better to say,'Some luck' or better still " I wish you better luck" he feels if you give them all the luck, there's nothing left for yourself.

Mike Murdock rightly quipped, " What you make happen for others, God will make happen for you'. In any case i have learnt overtime that GIVING IS LIVING, so keep giving and keep living, stop existing. bye for now i get paper for 4pm.

A THOUGHT ON THANKSGIVING

YEP, I AM BACK IN SCHOOL AND INFACT I WROTE MY FIRST PAPER YESTERDAY AND BELIEVE ME IT DID NOT SHOW THAT I HAD HARDLY READ MY BOOKS OVER THE LAST FOUR MONTHS, THE EXAM WAS TIGHT BUT SOMETHING STRUCK ME REAL HARD WHILE I WAS AT THE EXAM CENTRE, A LADY IN FRONT OF ME WAS ASKED TO CHANGE HER SITTING POSITION, BUT SHE DECLINED AFTER SOME FEW MINUTES, THE LECTURER WAS TOLD THAT THE LADY CANNOT MOVE UNAIDED, I WAS SHOCKED TO MY BONES, COS I REMEMBER SEEING THAT SAME GIRL WALK AROUND THE CAMPUS HERSELF.

IF U CAN THINK ENOUGH, U WILL KNOW HOW TO THANK GOD

Thursday, July 12, 2007

The naughty boy does not feel like reading school book again, u can never blame him sha, its because he had great things to do during the compulsory lecture free months. It's his friend that is leaking this secret about him o. Please make sure you don't tell him that Dayo Adeniyi told you.

ONE TESTIMONY YOU MUST READ

EARLIER THIS YEAR A FRIEND OF MINE, VER Y GOOD FRIEND OF MINE, TITI BABAFUNSHO , A PART FOUR LAW STUDENT IN OAU TOLD ME ABOUT A TV PROGRAMME THAT SHE WANTED TO START ON NTA OSOGBO, SO I ENCOURAGED HER AND WE STARTED WORKING ON IT ABOUT A MONTH LATER WE HAD THE FIRST STUDIO SESSION AND IT WAS QUITE A SUCCESS, THOUGH IT LOOKED LIKED A LITTLE BEGINNING, BUT JUST WHEN WE WERE THROUGH I SHOOK TITI AND SAID TO " CONGRATS, GREAT PEOPLE START".

FOR MOST PEOPLE STARTING A TV PROGRAMME ON NTA OSOGBO, FOT THAT MATTER WOULD HAVE LOOKED TOO SMALL, THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO HAVE BETTER IDEAS FOR A TV PRODUCTION THAN TITI DOES BUT ARE WAITING FOR AIT,CHANNELO, DSTV TO CALL THEM. I AM AFRAID THEY ARE WASTING THIER GOD GIVEN POTENTIALS.

ANYHOW IT HAPPENED THAT I MET A STAFF OF DOVE VISION, WHICH RUNS A CABLE TV AFTER PREACHING IN JESUS CENTREE, IKOYI ON THE 26TH OF APRIL, HE ASKED FOR AN INTERVIEW WITH ME AND WEEKS LATER I ORGANISED FRO US TO MEET AT UNILAG. I INTRODUCED TITI TO THE GUY AND GUESS WHAT, SHE WAS ASKED TO START HER PROGRAMME AND DOVE VISION, THE COMPANY WILL NOT ONLY BE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE STUDIO SESSIONS, SHE WOULD BE OMN THIER PAY LIST AND A PROGRAMME THAT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE ON NTA OSOGBO WILL BE SHOWING ON CABLE TV.
THERE ARE SO MANY LESSONS FROM THIS TESTIMONY, BUT LETS TAKE THEM ONE AFTER THE OTHER.
1. YOU MUST BE WILLING TO START WITH WHAT YOU HAVE AND WHERE YOU ARE, STOP WAITING FOR PERFECT CONDITIONS BEFORE U START. WHEN GOD SEE YOUR COMMITMENT HE WILL SEND HELP TO U

2. PEOPLE ARE THE OPPORTUNITIES WE NEED, SOMEBODY ONCE SAID THAT YOU ARE FOUR PEOPLE AWY FROM ANYBODY U WANT TO MEET, LEARN TO NETWORK WITH OTHERS.
CONGRATS TITI, I AM PROUD OF YOU, THANKS FOR STARTING

change agents

our greatest fear is not that we aren't capable, our greatest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure,we ask ourselves who am i to be fabulous, talented, gorgeous.Actually who are you not supposed to be.

As we make manifest the glory of God that's within us ,we unconsciously give other people the courage and permission to do likewise..

my book

UNIVERSITY .BABCOCOK.UNAD.UNIVERSITY OF IBADAN..YABATECH.HARVARD.WHAT IS IN A NAME? E.A ADEBOYE .BILL GATES. DENZEL WASHINGTON.THIERY HENRY. MTN.COCACOLA

One of the first choices every school leaver has to make after his career choice is the university he intends to attend. It’s indeed a very interesting discovery that even people who do not have the slightest idea of what their dream university looks like will still opt for it and speak well about it when anyone tries to say otherwise. The name of the university seems to make a whole lot of difference; it’s the little difference that makes all the difference between top class universities sand other tertiary institutions. It’s the same reason why you would rather open a yahoo e-mail address, take a bottle of coke, search on goggle, buy OMO for laundry, get a nokia phone and ultimately take your date to a Mr. Bigg’s outlet than settle for any other. After taking a careful look at what makes a name I discovered that regardless of the field, all world-class brands have three things in common.

THEY ARE DISCOVERED

There’s this story of a Christian that went to heaven. On getting there he met the Apostle Peter at the pearly gate and asked, ‘’who was the greatest general of all times?” Apostle Peter pointed to a man that wasn’t too far from Him. The new visitor to heaven contested his reply, because he lived with the man Peter pointed at in a slump for many years before his death. “Well that might be true, but by my records here, he is the greatest general of all times”, said Apostle Peter.

I Love to say that what counts is making what was once lying-in-state in your heart to become a state-of –the-art. There’s the famous Kellogg’s Cornflakes, many people prefer it to any other brand of cornflakes. Somebody simply forgot wheat in the oven overnight and the next morning he loved what he was. The rest is history. You have an idea, concept or dream that has the potential of making a name tomorrow. God is still in the business of giving the sons of men extraordinary ideas that can make them a voice to their generation. Heaven can never be short of revelations; the problem is that there are very few young people who are willing to get connected to the source of ideas.

OVERTIME, NOT OVERNIGHT

People don’t make a name in any sphere of life overnight; rather they begin to make significant impact overtime. Your idea can become a world-class brand, but it’s a process and not a 100m dash. It’s been said that the road to success is always under construction. At the moment, what you are involved in might only have impact on people in your room; it’s not impossible that your course mates don’t even know you exist. What counts is what you do on a consistent basis about your dream. Nothing works except you give attention to it; nothing moves except you move it. Sitting down did not make the footprints of great men. Whatever it is that God has laid in your heart to do, start from where you are and it won’t be long before you meet success at uncommon hours.

CONTRIBUTION

People can forget what you say, but they will never forget your service to humanity. Every person that makes a name in one field or the other has simply met a need and solved a problem. It’s been said that Henry Ford resigned from the company he started because he wanted the company to manufacture a car model that the average American would be able to afford, but his co-workers were more interested in the viability of such a model. So, they disagreed. Today, we still talk about Ford; nobody remembers the rest of that team.

Nobody will remember you for what you received; they would rather remember you for your contribution. Whose life do you intend to impact with that idea of yours? Of all the goals you have set for yourself which one will benefit others on your campus? Show me a man that is committed to helping men solve their problems and I will show you a man that will remain on top. How would you feel if in the next few years you name becomes a reference point? What if your idea of a establishing a boutique, writing a novel or waxing an album becomes a world-class brand? It’s time to move your life to the next level.
